Leila Mady, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H., is a board-certified otolaryngologist–head and neck surgeon, whose practice focuses on patients with head and neck cancer. Dr. Mady completed additional subspeciality fellowship training in advanced head and neck oncologic surgery and microvascular reconstruction. She has extensive clinical expertise in managing malignant tumors, such as tonsil cancer, tongue cancer and skin cancer (including melanoma), as well as benign conditions, such as thyroid nodules and hyperparathyroidism. 

Dr. Mady draws from an extensive clinical skillset, personally performing in-office diagnostic head and neck ultrasound and needle biopsies — with experience in sentinel node biopsy for both skin and oral cavity cancer, as well as from her training in transoral robotic surgery 

In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Mady completed a joint M.D./Ph.D./M.P.H. program in biomedical health sciences at Rutgers University, followed by serving as associate fellow at the Leonard David Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Mady is a funded population and health services researcher, who has led multidisciplinary and international teams with research interests in the side effects related to the cost of medical care, frailty, smell and taste changes related to cancer treatment and patient-reported and oncologic outcomes in head and neck cancer. She has also established a grant writing workshop series. 

Dr. Mady serves as a mentor to trainees in a wide range of academic training levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate. Dr. Mady has also made a commitment to mentor women and underrepresented groups and has received national recognition for these efforts by the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
