The HBHI Graduate Academy is a highly selective opportunity for onsite, Masters-level Johns Hopkins students interested in becoming future practitioners in the business of health. The exceptional students accepted into the program receive valuable mentorship, networking opportunities, content exposure, and research experience as well as a $2,000 stipend.

HBHI is now accepting applications for the 2025-26 cohort of its Graduate Academy program. Be sure to use your JHU email address for application submission. The Graduate Academy is a highly selective opportunity for onsite, Masters-level Johns Hopkins students or fellows in nursing or medicine interested in becoming future practitioners in the business of health.
Through the content exposure and networking events offered by the program, the exceptional students will have unique opportunities for personal and professional growth. The program includes a $2,000 stipend.
Applications are due on September 28, 2025.
We will also host information sessions on the program. Please join us on Zoom on Sep. 9 or Sep. 23 at 6:00 PM EDT for informational sessions with recent Graduate Academy alumni, who will be answering interested students’ questions about the program and application process.

Eligibility Requirements
The Graduate Academy is well-suited for master’s students in business and public health along with fellows in nursing and medicine. Fundamentally, the program aims to accept on-site Hopkins students interested in pursuing careers post-graduation in the healthcare sector, including health policy, consulting, health administration, strategy and operations, or life sciences.

Mentorship and Networking
PROGRAM COMPONENTS:
- Networking. Students will be invited to HBHI events and retreats where they can meet researchers across Johns Hopkins and at affiliate schools as well as alumni working in the field.
- Content exposure. Students will have the chance to join seminars like webinars, the work-in-progress series, and periodic symposia. Students can choose to participate in HBHI workgroups to learn more about interdisciplinary work.
- Mentoring. Students will be matched with a faculty member who shares a topical interest. will help the student navigate opportunities for networking, content exposure, and research. Research opportunities may be with the matched mentor or mentor could facilitate other opportunities.
- HBHI Committee Work: Students will serve on one of three Graduate Academy committees: social, alumni, and communications.

Seminars and Workgroups
Graduate Academy students have the chance to join seminars like webinars, the work-in-progress series, and periodic symposia to stay up to date on the latest innovations in the business of health.
In addition to seminars, students can choose to participate in one of the HBHI workgroups. Students can join these meetings to learn more about interdisciplinary work and potentially participate in ongoing research and data access projects.

Student Responsibilities
Selected students work on HBHI-related activities an average of 5-10 hours per week from December through mid-May.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Attending HBHI-promoted events.
- Meeting at least monthly with HBHI faculty mentor.
- Attending regular Graduate Academy meetings, which may include professional development, writing assignments, and event planning.
- Completing Graduate Academy team project.
- Supporting HBHI committee work and/or HBHI faculty research.
