Karen Shen, PhD

Karen Shen is a health economist conducting research on topics relating to the long-term care industry and the caregiving workforce and care for people with mental health and substance use-related disorders. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Shen received her PhD in Economics from Harvard University in 2021. She also holds a BS in Mathematical and Computational Sciences and an MS in Statistics from Stanford University, where she graduated in 2013.
