Dr. Kevin McLaughlin is a physical therapist and Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2012 from Temple University. He completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2020, and was an inaugural PERLHS (Promoting Embedded Research in the Learning Health System) scholar from 2024-2025. Dr. McLaughlin conducts health services research focused on musculoskeletal pain, rural-urban health disparities, and the use of digital health interventions. He uses a variety of approaches to conduct his research including clinical trials, large dataset analyses, and surveys. His research has been funded by AHRQ, NIH, PCORI, and multiple foundations.
