Laura Sigman, MD, JD, is the Executive Director for Strategic Solutions at the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, where she leads efforts to expand the impact of the Armstrong Institute through program development and partnerships. She sees patients in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Her interests focus on driving innovation and improvement at the intersection of clinical medicine and the regulatory and financial structures that affect health care.  She has worked previously with startup health tech companies; in hospital legal and risk management roles; on Medicare, Medicaid, and FDA cases at the US Department of Justice, and at the National Academies.  

Dr. Sigman completed residency at Johns Hopkins. She graduated from Dartmouth College, Harvard Law School, and the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine.
