Dr. Alexander is a Professor of Epidemiology and Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he serves as founding co-Director of the Center for Drug Safety and Effectiveness and Principal Investigator of an FDA-funded Center of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation (JH-CERSI). A practicing primary care physician, he is an internationally renowned pharmacoepidemiologist and the author of over 350 scientific articles examining prescription drug utilization, safety and effectiveness.
Dr. Alexander received his BA cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, an MD from Case Western Reserve University, and an MS from the University of Chicago.
