Dr. Zare research program examines the structural determinants of health, with a focus on program evaluation, place-based disparities, income inequality, social vulnerability, and hospital accountability, and their impact on population health outcomes. Dr. Zare’s work integrates health economics and health services research to evaluate how hospitals address social accountability. He also collaborates with policymakers to strengthen hospital accountability to the communities they serve.
