We are excited to announce the HBHI Graduate Institute 2023-2024 cohort!

Distinguished health economist and health policy researcher Melinda Buntin, PhD, has just been announced as Johns Hopkins’ newest Bloomberg Distinguished Professor. She holds primary appointments in the Department of Health Policy and Management in the Bloomberg School of Public Health and in the Carey Business School.

Health Equity & Business: 9 Expert Takeaways The Hopkins Business of Health Initiative convened two experts in this work, Dr. Lisa Cooper and Ebony Thomas of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, in a recent conversation to discuss best practices for health equity in business and where they see opportunities for growth.

The Hopkins Business of Health Initiative (HBHI) had its Washington DC debut at a September 22 Open House at Johns Hopkins University’s (JHU) beautifully renovated 555 Pennsylvania Avenue building. The location was a testament to JHU’s commitment to engaging in debates of national and global policy. The event introduced HBHI and JHU to the community of national leaders working specifically on health policy in the nation’s capital, welcoming them to HBHI’s new “spiritual home.”

A public conversation around generative artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine is both long overdue and increasingly urgent. In health care applications, the stakes are heightened because of the intricate privacy considerations and the critical nature of decision-making. The potential positive impact is also enormous.
