Over the last two years, 32 Johns Hopkins scholars have presented their early-stage research to our multidisciplinary audience. In that time, the WIP series has become a community platform for Johns Hopkins affiliated researchers to learn about the exciting business of health research occurring across campus. We hope you will consider attending the WIP series regularly.
The goal of this webinar is to discuss the ecosystem of markets for blood and blood components in the US, the structure of the market ecosystem, the challenges faced, and the steps underway to address the challenges and ensure a stable supply of blood and blood components for patients in need.
The health care market landscape in the United States has changed rapidly in the past several years, requiring an integrated perspective to understand the complex interaction between choices at the micro level and the shifting regulatory and institutional landscape at the macro level. This two-day conference provides a forum for industry leaders, policy analysts, and academic experts to examine how consumer and firm choices, as well as government regulation and policy, shape and transform health care markets.
The U.S. market for long-term care insurance has been so broken for so long that it sometimes seems that we’ve collectively decided it’s not fixable. Yet the need is acute. The U.S. population is living longer and tens of millions will need long term care, whether at home or in a nursing home (which costs more than $90,000 a year). Yet only about one in ten families have long-term care insurance, which is expensive. Much of the caregiving as well as the financial burden falls on family members; and families deplete assets, ending up on Medicaid. Watch the recording for a conversation on possible solutions – and how to re-ignite a conversation about them.
We invite you to join our work-in-progress (WIP) seminar series, at the heart of HBHI’s mission to promote a healthier America.
This webinar focused on the ways that CMOs are working to influence the health of organizations and their stakeholders (including not only employees, but customers and broader social stakeholders).
