Dr. Johnson is the Vice President of Care Transformation for the Johns Hopkins Health System, building on success of provider-led initiatives to increase the efficacy, efficiency, consistency and affordability of care. Her passion as an advocate for patient-centered, quality-driven health care refinement to improve experience and outcomes for patients and providers shines throughout her work.
Dr. Johnson led the establishment of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as one of 17 provider-led entities in the US approved by CMS to write appropriate use criteria (AUC) for the Protecting Access to Medicare Act advanced imaging regulation in 2019. She directs a large team of clinicians who design evidence-based diagnostic guidelines in the electronic medical record to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization, while fulfilling CMS’ requirements for advanced imaging clinical decision support.
Dr. Johnson is the founder and co-director of the High Value Practice Alliance (www.hvpaa.org, est January 2017), a consortium of >100 large and small teaching institutions collaborating on high value care quality improvement, research and education.
