David is an orthopaedic surgery resident in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program based out of Massachusetts General Hospital and is a senior researcher at the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School, where he collaborates with Professor Michael E. Porter on value-based health care initiatives. His scholarly endeavors focus on the practical implementation of value-based health care principles, the routine collection and use of patient-reported outcome measures, and efforts to address disparities in orthopaedic care as part of ongoing health care system transformation efforts. Additionally, David frequently writes op-eds and other commentary in mainstream media and policy outlets to help bring the ongoing health policy discussions further into the public eye.
David received his MD with distinction in research from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and his MBA from Simon Business School at the University of Rochester, where he was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. In addition, he holds his Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation with distinction from the University of Luxembourg as a Fulbright Scholar. He has a BA in Economics from Bowdoin College. David is currently earning his PhD in value-based health care from the University of Leiden in The Netherlands.
