Abstract

In this discussion, Editor-in-Chief of NEJM Catalyst Innovations in Care Delivery, Tom Lee, M.D., M.Sc., speaks with the current Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Abe Sutton, J.D., and his predecessor, Liz Fowler, Ph.D., J.D. The conversation delves into the continuity of the mission for the center of refining value-based care as well as balancing the affordability and accessibility of high-quality health care for all Americans. CMMI continues to balance the emerging priorities for new tools and technologies while maintaining the persistent vision of improving care and reducing costs despite the change in leadership.
