Three HBHI Core Faculty will present their work to the “causal inference working group” and interested attendees as we explore opportunities for collaboration in supporting work in this area.

Nursing faces critical issues, resulting in the current nursing crisis. How do we understand the nuances impacting the profession, build mutual understanding, and find solutions? The panelists represent varied perspectives across the nursing workforce. They will address the impacts of the shortage, strategies for addressing it, and the role of policy in solutions.

The U.S. market for long-term care insurance has been so broken for so long that it sometimes seems that we’ve collectively decided it’s not fixable. Yet the need is acute. The U.S. population is living longer and tens of millions will need long term care, whether at home or in a nursing home (which costs more than $90,000 a year). Yet only about one in ten families have long-term care insurance, which is expensive. Much of the caregiving as well as the financial burden falls on family members; and families deplete assets, ending up on Medicaid.
