Truveta User Community at HBHI
2025 Truveta Pilot Grant Phase One Awardees
HBHI’s inaugural Truveta Pilot Grant season awarded support to 25 Phase I projects drawn from more than 40 applications across Johns Hopkins. These pilots use Truveta’s multi-system electronic health record and claims data to test feasibility, refine research questions, and lay the groundwork for larger studies on topics ranging from obesity treatment and cancer care to dementia, substance use, financial toxicity, and caregiver identification.
2025 Truveta Pilot Grant Phase Two Awardees
Phase II Truveta Pilot Grants provide targeted staffing and data fee support for 11 projects that are ready to move from feasibility to deeper analysis. Awardees are using Truveta data to examine treatment effectiveness and safety, optimize telehealth and critical care, clarify complex diagnostic pathways, and design data-driven tools that can inform clinical decision-making and policy.
About
The proliferation of data platforms standardizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) data across health systems presents a major opportunity for exploring new innovative research ideas that could not previously be addressed. One such platform, Truveta, a national EHR data resource, has been selected as a key tool for advancing these efforts.
The Hopkins Business of Health Initiative has established the Truveta User Community (HBHI-Truveta). This workgroup is dedicated to fostering a collaborative user community that leverages Truveta’s platform to drive cutting-edge research in health and healthcare.
The workgroup convenes the Second Wednesday of each Month at 2pm to share knowledge, discuss ongoing projects, and collaborate on research aimed at understanding patient outcomes, system efficiencies, and social determinants of health.
