HBHI Is Now In DC!

The Hopkins Business of Health Initiative (HBHI) had its Washington DC debut at a September 22 Open House at Johns Hopkins University’s (JHU) beautifully renovated 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW building. The location was a testament to JHU’s commitment to engaging in debates of national and global policy. The event introduced HBHI and JHU to the community of national leaders working specifically on health policy in the nation’s capital, welcoming them to HBHI’s new “spiritual home.”  

HBHI brings together experts, in the spirit of One University at Hopkins, to address the pressing social need of achieving better health outcomes in light of ever-rising health spending by catalyzing and accelerating collaboration at the intersection of health policy, health practice, and business.  Remarks by the leaders of the sponsor schools - Carey Business School, the Bloomberg School of Public Health, the School of Nursing, and the School of Medicine – underscored this message of interdisciplinary collaboration.

The goal of HBHI is to unite faculty committed to contributing to better health through an affordable and equitable, high-value health system with a focus on the role of business and incentives. HBHI accomplishes this goal by providing platforms for interdisciplinary research collaboration including data/analytics, networking, research funding, student programs, research dissemination, and programming on emerging issues.
