Uma Srikumaran, MD, MBA, MPH

Dr. Srikumaran is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Shoulder Division at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He currently serves as the Shoulder Fellowship Director and Vice Chair of Quality, Safety, and Service. He also serves as Chair for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Howard County General Hospital and Medical Director for the Howard County Ambulatory Surgical Center and Musculoskeletal Service Line in Columbia.
He has a strong interest in delivering value-based care and his research focuses on the intersection of innovation, quality, and value to the patient, physician, and health system. He is involved with various national, multicenter clinical trials investigating novel medical devices and surgical approaches with over 100 publications. He is presently the physician lead for the Johns Hopkins Medicine Shoulder Episode in the HSCRC Episode Quality Improvement Program (EQIP).
Dr. Srikumaran graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his fellowship in shoulder surgery at Harvard (Massachusetts General Hospital & Brigham and Women’s Hospital). He has an MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
